Clifford P. "Tip" Kent, 80, formerly of Olney and Chicago died Friday July 8, 1977 at the Heritage House in Champaign.

Graveside services held at Haven Hill Cemetery in Olney.

He was born May 17, 1897 in Olney, son of Mr. and Mrs. N.A. Kent. He married Janet Jones in Olney in 1916. She died in 1930.

Surviving are a son, George (Gordon) Kent of Champaign; two grandsons; and several cousins in the Olney area.

He had been a statistician for the Lehigh-Portland Cement Co. of Chicago until his retirement about 10 years ago.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Consistory of Chicago. Mr. Kent was a graduate of Olney High School and attended the University of Illinois.
