First Lieutenant Julius E. Gregory of the 217th Aero Squadron was killed in action October 11, 1918 near Ypres, Belgium.  His squad went down in flames during an engagement.

Lt. Gregory was originally buried in Belgium, but is now interred at Haven Hill Cemetery in Olney.

Lt. Gregory was born August 19, 1896 in Olney, Illinois and was raised by his grandmother, Christine Schneiter Gregory.
