Florence (Bohlander) Newell, 74, of Sidney, Montana, retired desk clerk at the Lalonde Hotel, died Friday, July 18, 1975 in Community Memorial Hospital. Public Eastern Star services in Fulkerson Memorial Chapel with burial in Roselawn Cemetery in Charleston, Illinois.

She was born in 1901 in Mattoon, Illinois a daughter of George W. and Louise E. (Borchelt) Bohlander.

She attended a nurses training school in St. Louis, Missouri and she married Sylvester A. Becker March 1, 1933.

She moved to Olney, Illinois in 1954 and was married to Charles E. Newell there, in 1957. He died in 1958.

Mrs. Newell came to Sidney in 1958. She retired in 1968. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Carol A. Rieger of St. Louis and two granddaughters.
