Lovell George - Class Of 1919

Lovell W. George, 88, of Jefferson City, Mo., died Saturday, April 28, 1990 at St. Mary's Health Center in Jefferson City, Mo.

Mr. George donated his remains to medical science for anatomical research.

He was born November 13, 1902, in Olney, the son of Charles E. and Belle C. (Lewis) George. Lovell's father Charles George, was engineer of Wilson's Ice and Cold Storage for about 50 years. Lovell was married August 3, 1940, in Kansas City, to Mary Jean Maule, who survives at the home.

He was a graduate of Olney Township School, and he received his Bachelor of Science and Juris Doctorate degrees from the University of Illinois. He was employed as an attorney with the Federal Land Bank for several years, before entering private practice in St. Louis, from 1944 until his retirement in December 1975. He also served as city attorney for Brentwood and served from 1971-1974, in the St. Louis County prosecutor's office, training prosecuting attorneys. He was a member of the Missouri and Illinois Bar Associations and the Kiwanis Club of Brentwood.

Surviving, in addition to his spouse, are two daughters, Mrs. Marilyn Miller and Mrs. Marsha Richeson, both of Jefferson City; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
