Fern C. Ahlfield, 89, of Olney died Tuesday September 17, 1996 at Richland Memorial Hospital.  Services at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home with Keith Krueger officiating. Burial in Haven Hill Cemetery.

Ahlfield was born July 13, 1907 in Calhoun, the daughter of Edwin Levi and Martha Isabel (Matthews) Nicholas. She married Frederick Henry Ahlfield in 1943. He preceded her in death April 15, 1987.

She was a homemaker and a member of Elm Street Christian Church.

She is survived by a son, Fred Ahlfield Jr. and his wife, Donna of Olney; a cousin, Kenny Harper of Alton; two grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and several brothers and sisters.
