Verna M. Ryan, 88, of Olney, died Monday Feb. 27, 1995 at Burgin Manor Nursing Home.  Funeral services at Zirkle Funeral Home with Rev. Burl J. Shinkle officiating. Burial in the Stoltz Cemetery.

Ryan was born May 13, 1906 in German Township in Richland County, the daughter of William and Margaret (VonAlmen) Linder. She married James W. Ryan Dec. 25, 1929 in Pinkstaff. He died Jan. 22, 1992.

She was a homemaker and teacher for 14 years in the Richland County School District. She was a member of the Free Methodist Church.

She is survived by two sons, Walter Ryan, of Olney, and Richard Ryan, of Belpre, Ohio; two brothers, Authur Linder, of Robinson, and Elmer Linder, of Ft. Myers, Fla.; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Ryan was preceded in death by her parents, husband, an infant brother, three sisters and a grandson.
