Kenneth Joseph Harmon, 87, of Champaign, formerly of Richland County, died Friday January 1, 1993 at the Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.  Graveside services at the Haven Hill Cemetery in Olney with Brother John Craig officiating.

Mr. Harmon was born April 24, 1905 in Richland County, the son of Joseph and Sarah (Gardner) Harmon. He married Bernice Resor on August 20, 1927 in Tolono. She died on October 13, 1984. He later married Phoebe Hayes on April 13, 1990 in Olney.

Mr. Harmon was a co-founder of Harmon Drapery Company in Champaign in 1950.

He is survived by his wife; three sons, Robert, David and Michael Harmon all of Champaign; one step-daughter, Peggy Townsend of Vashon, Wisc.; one sister, Opal Stueber of Olney; five grandsons; two granddaughters; six great-grandsons and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Harmon was preceded in death by his first wife, one son three brothers and three sisters.
