Rev. Clifford Smith, 77, Mt. Pulaski, died Tuesday Dec, 21, 1982 in St. John's Hospital in Springfield.

Services in Mt. Pulaski Methodist Church with Rev. John R. Seed and Rev. Harold Weber presiding. Graveside services in the Beecher City Cemetery.

Rev. Smith was born May 23, 1905, in Clay County, the son of William and Mamie (Byers) Smith. He married Lillian Barr June 6, 1929 in Olney, and she survives.

He was the retired Mt. Pulaski United Methodist Church minister.

Other survivors include three sons, James, Riverton; Robert, Arlington, Texas; Joseph, Berea, Ohio; three sisters, Ina Koertge, Refugio, Texas; Thelma McClain and Neva Pipher, both of Olney; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers.
