Dr. Barney Adelbert Shepherd, 53 year-old Morton, Illinois dentist died at 3 a.m., Monday, July 23, 1957 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Rochester, Minn. Funeral Services held at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Morton, the Rev. Elmer Koch officiating. Entombment at Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin.

Dr. Shepherd was born July 1, 1904 in Olney, Illinois son of Adelbert and Edna M. (Barney) Shepherd. He married Elda Huette of Morton on August 16, 1930 in Pekin.

Dr. Shepherd was a graduate of Washington University Dental School at St. Louis, Missouri. He had practiced in Morton since 1927.

He was a member of the Morton Chamber of Commerce and the Kennel Lakes Sportsman’s Club. He was a past president of the Morton Optimist Club and the Peoria District Dental Association. Dr. Shepherd attended the Presbyterian Church.

Survivors are his wife, Elda Shepherd; daughter, Pamela; his mother, Mrs. Edna Shepherd and a sister, Mrs. Water Forsythe of Carbondale.
