County Welfare Dept. Employee Dies in Dundas

Howard William Franklin, 40 year old employee of the Richland County Department of Public Welfare died Saturday night, May 2, 1942 at his home in Dundas.

Franklin was born November 17, 1901 near Dundas and graduated from Olney Township High School in 1922. He entered the department of Public Welfare after being employed by several business houses in Dundas.

Mr. Franklin was secretary of the Dundas Modern Woodmen lodge and was a member of the Olney IOOF lodge.

He is survived by his wife, Malinda I. (McQuillen) Franklin; a son, John E. Franklin; his parents, Edward J. and Martha R. (Storer) Franklin and a sister, Mrs. Florence Anderson, all of Dundas.

Funeral services at Dundas Methodist Church with Rev. Russell Storer in charge. Burial in the Dundas Cemetery.
