Gerald Kenneth Nicholas - Class Of 1920

Gerald Kenneth Nicholas, age 19, son of Albert L. and Sarah E. (Wright) Nicholas, died last Friday night, May 13, 1922 after an illness of six months. He suffered a severe attack of the flu last fall, which was followed by pneumonia and finally tuberculosis.

Young Nicholas was born August 27, 1902 in Calhoun, Illinois.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the home of his parents on East North Avenue, conducted by Rev. Laurence Smith, of the M.E. Church, after which the body was taken to Calhoun for burial.

The young man was a graduate of the Olney high school class of 1920 and was highly esteemed by all who knew him. He taught the following school year at Sumner and he remained single. He was a boy of excellent habits and greatly liked by all.
