Helen S. Land, 98, of Olney passed away Thursday October 8, 2009 at Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney.  Services in the Chapel of the Stasi-Grove Funeral Home in Olney.

Mrs. Land was born on August 30, 1911 in Olney, the daughter of John F. and Mary (Fore) Smith. She married Charles Land on September 19, 1969. He preceded her in death.

She worked at Olney shoe factory and was a homemaker, devoted wife and loving mother.

Mrs. Land is survived by one daughter, Mary Richardson, nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Charles Land, four brothers, two sisters and one infant daughter.
