George Alonzo Day, 29 of Olney, Illinois, director of the financial department of the Southern Illinois WPA district, died Saturday, April 13, 1940 in a hospital in Herrin, Illinois.

Death was due to uremic poisoning.

Mr. Day was born August 26, 1910 in Pittsburgh, PA son of L. Owen Day and Odessa (Wyscarver) Day.

Surviving are his wife, Anne (Weber) Day; two sons, Stephen and Pat Day; his parents, Owen and Odessa Day; a sister, Helen Day Brockman and a grandfather.

Burial in Haven Hill Cemetery, Olney, Illinois.
