MILDRED (JARED) JOHNSON, 86, of Olney, died Wednesday May 20, 1998 at her residence.  Services at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Olney with Bro. Bill Cox and Minister Joe Eggebrecht officiating. Burial in Haven Hill Cemetery in Olney.

Johnson was born July 16, 1911 in Tuscola, the daughter of Ray V. and Grace (Heminger) Jared. She married Ernest Logan Johnson June 28, 1941.

She was a retired journalist working at the Daily American in West Frankfort, The Daily Journal in Wheaton and The Charleston Daily Courier. She also owned and operated the Double R Hatchery and Bookstore with her husband. She was a graduate of McKendree College and University of Illinois. She was a member of Elm Street Christian Church in Olney.

She is survived by her husband of Olney; two sons, Jared Logan Johnson and his wife, Celeste of Grand Rapids Mich and Linwood Jared Johnson and his wife, Huey-jia of Wilmette; one daughter, Rosemary Grace Walker and her husband, Keith of Grand Rapids, Mich.; one brother, Leland Jared of Olney; one sister, Milfrieda Bower of Springfield and eight grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
