Lawrence Ferran

Lawrence L. "Bud" Ferran, 64, of Beardstown, formerly of Olney, died November 28, 1973  at his residence, according to word received here by friends. He had been in poor health for the past three years.  Funeral and burial services at Beardstown.

The deceased was born in Olney on February 7, 1909, son of the late Hugh Ferran and Eva Nix Ferran. He graduated from the Olney Township High School in 1928 and was employed for several years at D.A. Piper garage and by the Montgomery Ward and Co. in Olney and several other places in Illinois.

He and his family have resided in Beardstown for the past 27 years and he was operator of a TV appliance business until he disposed of the business a year or so ago.

While living in Olney, he was a cornetist with Cummins Municipal Band. He was a member of the First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ in Olney.

He was married on July 31, 1930 to Elizabeth Shaner, an Olney nurse.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; two sons, Gene and Donald, both of South Bend, Ind.; a daughter, Marilyn, also a teacher at South Bend; his mother, Mrs. Eva Ferran and three grandchildren.

His father passed away in 1942.
