David E. Ratcliffe, 68, of Olney, passed away early this morning, October, 7, 1977 at the Richland Memorial Hoospital following a period of ill health.

Mr. Ratcliffe was a native of Richland County, born September 24, 1909, and was the son of William Ratcliffe and Nancy Doan Ratcliffe. He was married to Vera Courtright.

He had been a telegrapher for the B. & O. Railroad for many years until his retirement. Mr. Ratcliffe was a member of the United Church of Christ in Olney.

Surviving are his wife, Vera, and three sons: Ted Ratcliffe of Olney, Terry Ratcliffe of Dallas Texas and William Ratcliffe of West Salem. There are ten grandchildren. He also leaves a brother and two sisters: Paul Ratcliffe of Olney, Mrs. Bessie Bunting of Olney and Nellie Houk of Downers Grove.

Burial in Ebenezer Cemetery.
