Merritt D. Semple, 65 of Olney died Wednesday, March 23, 1977 in Richland Memorial Hospital, Olney.  Funeral services in Summers Funeral Home. Burial in Crest Haven Cemetery, Claremont.

Mr. Semple was born in Jasper County, son of Roscoe and Jane Semple. He married Evelyn McDowell in 1935.  He was a member of Faith Bible Church, Olney and the American Jersey Cattle Club.

Surviving are his wife; daughters, Mrs. Russell (Shirley) Snider and Mrs. Paul (Carolyn) Kermicle, both of Dundas; sisters, Mrs. Elsie Hildebrand of Noble and Mrs. Florence Lock of Olney; six grandchildren.
