Charlene (Bolander) Schlanser was an amazing lady. I first was introduced to her as my husband's (Mike Kern) aunt when Mike and I were dating in 1969. She and her husband Emil lived most of their married life in Effingham, Illinois.

My children will always remember Aunt Charlene as being very cheerful, never complaining, and always had homemade baked cookies waiting for us on our visits. She also managed to always bring her cookies to us when she came to visit in Olney.

We miss her at lot..........and her cookies!
