Harold Shaffer, 71 of Clay City, Illinois died Saturday, November 18, 1978 in his home. Funeral services in Cardascio Funeral Home, Clay City with burial in Clay City Cemetery.

Mr. Shaffer was born January 22, 1907 in Lima, Ohio, son of Charles E. and Ethel (Bowsher) Shaffer.

He was a member of First Baptist Church, Clay City. He married Vera I. Richart in 1927.

Surviving are his wife; sons, Harold Lee of New Orleans, LA, Dick of Clay City; brothers, Laverne Shaffer of El Paso, Texas, Eugene Shaffer of Seminole, OK; sisters, Mrs. Vera Miller and Mrs. Cleo Stoltz both of Oblong, Mrs. Charlene Vaughan, Mrs. Juanita Webb and Mrs. Wanda Lee Gardner all of Seminole, OK; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
