Glenn King

Glenn L. King, 66, of 615 N. Walnut St., Olney passed away Saturday, June 28, 1975 at the Holy Cross Hospital, Austin, Texas. He was born in Richland County, son of Samuel T. and Sarah Linse King. On June 28, 1930 he married Marie Kaiser.

Mr. King was an employee of Pure Oil Transportation Co. for 28 years. In 1966 he was elected Richland County Treasurer and served a four year term from 1966 to 1970, when he was elected Richland County Sheriff and served the four year term until 1974, going out of office last December. He was not a candidate for re-election.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Olney, Olney Elks Lodge #926, Richland Country Club, and Illinois Sheriff's Association.

Surviving are his wife, Marie; a son and daughter-in-law, Glenn R. (Dick) and Carol King of Austin, Texas; three grandchildren; four brothers, Roy King of Kerrville, Texas, Herbert King of Olney, Walter King of Bakersfield, Calif.; and Carl King of Anderson, Ind.; a sister, Mrs. Helen O'Malley of Bakersfield, Calif.; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services at Summers Funeral Home with Rev. David McNabb officiating. Interment in Haven Hill Cemetery.
