Brenda Leigh Kocher, 42, of Olney, passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2017 in Springfield, IL.  Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Stringtown with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Stringtown.

She was born on May 16, 1975 in Olney, IL, the daughter of James and Betty (Read) Wright.  She married Wayne Kocher on April 12, 1997, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Stringtown.  He survives.

Brenda was a devoted Catholic and had a strong faith. She loved her children and was a second mom to many. Brenda ran an in-home daycare and loved the children as though they were her own. Her door was always open to welcome any one; she was a kind soul. Family was important to Brenda and she took pleasure in watching her children’s activities, sporting events, and sharing their milestones on social media. Brenda enjoyed family trips and spending time with her children and husband. She enjoyed spending time with her friends, whether it was out for dinner or Black Friday shopping trips. Brenda's dedication to her husband, children, family, and friends will never be forgotten. 

Brenda is survived by her, husband, Wayne Kocher of Olney; daughter, Kendra Kocher, son, Colin Kocher, son, Caden Kocher, and daughter, Kerigan Kocher; sister, Peggy (Rob) Ittner of Carbondale, IL; brother-in-law, Kevin Schilt of West Salem, IL; nephew, Kelsey (Amanda) Schilt; and several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Tammy Schilt; and aunts and uncles.
