Samuel Caldwell Wilson, 88, of Salem, Illinois, formerly of Olney, died Friday, August 16, 2002.

Mr. Wilson was born March 9, 1915 in Olney, Illinois, the son of Thomas and Louella M. (Porter) Wilson.

He was a member of the Methodist church.

Mr. Wilson is survived by his wife, Eleanor Wilson, of Salem; a son, Allen Wilson, of Salem; two sisters, Martha Lawless, of Olney, and Alberta Reynolds, of Elmore City, Okla.; and two grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Charles and Carl Wilson.

Services at Rankin Funeral Home in Salem. Burial in East Lawn Cemetery, Salem.
