Rosalie Tucker (Eilers) - Class Of 1933

Rosalie T. Eilers, 88, of Edwardsville, a retired vice president of the Edwardsville National Bank, died May 10, 2004, of natural causes at University Care Center in Edwardsville.

Mrs. Eilers was born June 20, 1915 to Voil and Bess Tucker in Olney, Illinois. She graduated from Olney High School and took college night courses that were offered by the bankers association. She met Bernard "Sonny" Eilers of New Douglas through mutual friends. They married in 1957.

Mrs. Eilers worked in the banking industry for more than 30 years, starting her career in Olney and Bridgeport in the late 1940s. In the late 1950s, she joined Edwardsville National Bank, where she worked her way up to vice president. Mrs. Eilers served in that position for several years, retiring in 1985.

Mrs. Eilers was a member of the Illinois Bank Women's Association, the Edwardsville Zonta Club, Immanuel United Methodist Church in Edwardsville and the National Association of Bank Women, for which she served as president.

Among survivors are her husband and a stepdaughter, Alice Westman of Mount Vernon.

A funeral was held at Weber Funeral Home in Edwardsville. Burial at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon.
