Ruth D. (Travers) McBride, 76, of Olney, died Friday, December 27, 1991 at Richland Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services in the chapel of Summers-Kistler Funeral Home, with Rev. Father Michael Cooney officiating. Burial  in St. Joseph Cemetery in Olney, with full military graveside rites performed by Olney Veterans Organizations.

Mrs. McBride was born June 8, 1915 in Mt. Erie, the daughter of Louis Franklin and Ida Mae (Lynch) Travers. She married Paul N. McBride July 16, 1946. He preceded her in death June 15, 1984.

Mrs. McBride was a retired secretary at East Richland High School and the Circuit Clerk's Office. She served during World War II in the Navy Waves. She was a member of the American Legion.

Mrs. McBride is survived by one sister-in-law, Lucia Lanter of Olney; 11 nieces and one nephew.

Mrs. McBride was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers, Fred, Claude (Buck), Earl and Tom Travers, and three sisters, Jean Slothower, Margie Becken-hower and Mable Franklin.
