Bernice Stoll (Sterchi) - Class Of 1933

Bernice Helen Sterchi, 91, of Olney, died Sunday, May 10, 2009, at Burgin Manor in Olney. Visitation at Saron Church of Grand Prairie. A celebration of life will be held at the church with Minister Tim Bursott officiating. Burial in Saron Cemetery in rural Dundas.

Mrs. Sterchi was born on September 18, 1917, in Olney, the daughter of William and Anna (Eggler) Stoll. She married Earl Sterchi on April 8, 1945, at Saron United Church of Christ. He preceded her in death on May 3, 1993.

She was a homemaker and retired schoolteacher. She was a member of Saron Church of Grand Prairie and also taught Sunday school. She was a former member of Richland County Genealogy Organization, Richland County Home Extension and Farm Bureau.

She will be loved and remembered by her son, Jim Sterchi and his wife, Paula, of Olney; daughter, Dianne Scherer and her husband, Lee, of Olney; brother, Collins Stoll and his wife, Barbara, of Olney; special friend and caregiver, Sue Holland, of Olney; four grandchildren, Brian Scherer, Kevin Scherer, Kimberly Scherer and her fiancé, Erik Oslawski, and Mark Scherer; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earl Sterchi; brother, Alvin Stoll; and sisters, Hazel Snider and Margaret Dietrich.
