Eugene A. Snider

Eugene Alexander Snider passed away on April 25, 2016 in Farmington, Missouri at the age of 88 years. He was born on May 2, 1927 in Vincennes, Indiana, a son to the late Rev. Thomas and Daisy (Shipley) Snider. (Reverend Snider was pastor of the Nazarene Church in Olney from 1942–1945. He also operated a creamery in Olney.)

On August 25, 1950 Eugene was united in marriage to Helen Jarrell-Schwerin who survives. To this union, six children were born: Thomas Snider and wife Suvanna of Thailand, Brenda Williams and friend Mike Grajek of Middlebrook, Richard Snider and wife Renee of Ironton, Karl Snider and wife Sherri of Arcadia, Chrissy Nichols and husband Brent of Ironton and Laura Snider of Jefferson City. He is also survived by brothers David and Daniel Snider; sisters Viola Hall, Sue Weir and Ruth Dale; thirteen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren with another on the way as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Eugene is preceded in death by brothers Gilbert, Benjamin Levi, Johnny, and Robert Snider; his sisters Mamie Williams, and infant Baby Girl Snider.

Eugene had a Master's degree in Education and after dedicating most of his life to the public school system, he was a special education hearing impaired teacher and retired from Potosi R-3 Schools in 1995. He was a member of the Retired Teachers Association of Potosi and of the First Church of the Nazarene in Ironton.
