Ruth A. Walker, 78, of Olney died Saturday January 23, 1999 at Richland Memorial Hospital.  Services at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Olney with Rev. Bill Rennels officiating. Burial in Forrest Ridge Cemetery in Wynoose.

Mrs. Walker was born February 17, 1920 in Richland County, the daughter of John Rawlings and Mary Irene (Eck) Alvord. She married Paul Walker January 29, 1938.

She was a retired clerk/cashier at Red & White Grocery Store and Sav-A-Lot. She was a member of Richland County Genealogical and Historical Society.

She is survived by her husband, Paul Walker of Olney; four sons, Rodney Walker and his wife, Mary of Southport, Fla., Jerry Walker and his wife, Frieda of Olney, Mick Walker and his wife, Kathy of Tempe, Ariz. and Richard Walker and his wife, Darlene of Princeton, Ind.; one sister, June Alvord of Olney; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandcildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, John, two sisters, a granddaughter and a great-granddaughter.
