Robert Burge Farmer, Jr., 79, of Union City, Tennessee, sales representative for Thurston Freight Systems, died of heart failure Saturday, August 14, 1999 at Saint Francis Hospital in Memphis. Services at White Ranson Funeral Home with burial in East View Cemetery.

He was a deacon and Sunday school teacher at Georgian Hill Baptist Church, a World War II Marine veteran and a training union director.

Mr. Farmer, the husband of Oceanna Fuller Farmer, also leaves two sisters, Louise Murry of Yuba City, Calif., and Beckie Gray of Houston, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Burge Farmer and Kathleen (Warford) Farmer and a brother, James T. Farmer.
