Dortha Nadine Enlow (Davis)

Dortha Nadine Davis, 91, of Decatur, IL passed away Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at Heartland of Decatur of Decatur, IL. Funeral service at the Elm River (Brown) Cumberland Presbyterian Church at Mt. Erie, IL. Burial in the Brown Cemetery. 

Dortha was born on June 20, 1919 in rural Mt. Erie, Wayne County, ILL, the daughter of Omer and Amelia (Williams) Enlow. She married Victor R. Davis on September 5, 1939 in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Dortha has been a life-long member of the Presbyterian Church. Victor and Dortha's first date on Easter 1934 was to 'The Brown'. She was a graduate of Champaign Illinois Business College and retired from being a florist in Newton, Illinois. Dortha enjoyed gardening, crafts from seashells found while living in Lakeland, Florida, painting and fishing. She was a member of the DAR.

Surviving are her sons, Garry E. Davis (Linda) of Decatur, Dennis R. Davis (Julie) of Hudson, WI; grandchildren, Kristy Davis of London, UK, Jeffery Davis (Jamayla) of Springfield, MO, Reason and Madison Davis of Hudson, WI; great-grandsons, Paxton and Jaxon Davis of Springfield, MO; sister, Martha Henman of Olney, IL., and brother, Everett Enlow (Kathleen) of Cisne, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Jim, husband Victor, and daughter Jane.
