Charles M. Burnett, 78 of Mattoon, Illinois died at 11:50 a.m. Thursday, May 20, 1993 at the Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center.

A private graveside service will be held in Bellefontaine Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri with Rev. Austin McCaskill officiating. Visitation at Schilling Funeral Home in Mattoon.

He was born October 13, 1914 in Clarence, Missouri, a son of David E. and Florence R. Burnett.

Survivors are a niece, Mrs. Richard (Diane) Metz of St. Louis and six cousins.

He is preceded in death by a sister.

Mr. Burnett served as a World War II Army veteran. He was a member of the Mattoon Golf and Country Club.
