Inis Uhl (Nease)

Inis Naomi Uhl, 95, of Olney, Illinois passed away Monday, September 14, 2009 in Burgin Manor.  Funeral services at Trinity Lutheran Church in Olney with Reverend Gary Ryden officiating. Burial in the Haven Hill Cemetery in Olney. 

Inis was born June 30, 1914 in Richland County, Illinois the daughter of Levi and Gertie (Harding) Uhl. She married Norman Nease in 1993; he preceded her in death in 2000.

She was a retired school teacher. Inis attended Eastern Illinois College at Charleston. She taught rural schools for nine years. After consolidation, she taught the elementary schools in Dundas, Olney, Central, Silver and Cherry. She taught for 37 years.

Her father died in 1933 while they lived on a farm east of Dundas. Later she moved to Olney. She and her mother helped each other, until her mother's death in 1973. She taught school until 1975 and lived alone until 1993 when she married Norman Nease and he died in 2000.

She was a previous member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Inis was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Olney, Retired Teacher's Association, Eastern Illinois Alumni, RMH Auxiliary and Richland County Farm Bureau.

She is survived by her niece, Faye (Glen) Clapp of Newton; nephews, Ardell (Jean) Nease of Anaheim, CA and Ray (Diana) Nease of Harrisburg and several great nieces, nephews and cousins. Inis was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother Verle Russell and one sister Mildred V. Nease.
