Lola W. Smith, 86, of Olney died Monday April 28, 2003 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville, Ind.  Funeral services at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Olney with Reverend Charles McDonald officiating. Burial in Maple Dale Cemetery in Olney.

Mrs. Smith was born on April 28, 1917 in Geneseo, the daughter of Milton and Edna (Delp) Widger.

She was a comptroller for Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney and retired from Richland County Mental Health. She was a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church, First United Methodist Church, Clio Club in Olney and the Home Extension Association quilting group.

Mrs. Smith is survived by a sister, Hazel Harvey of Herscher; seven children, Michael Smith and his wife, Melba of Santa Claus, Ind., Joseph Smith and his wife, Jane Ann of Olney, Roger Smith of Louisville, Sarah Prater of Knoxville, Tenn., Susan Lybarger and her husband, Robert of Salem, Arlon Smith and his wife, Ellen of Olney and Sylvia Smith of Flora; and 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Milton and three sisters.
