Ruth Thomas, 88, of Flora died  September 9, 2004 at Good Samaritan Regional Health Center in Mt. Vernon, IL.

She was born August 29, 1916 in Olney, IL the daughter of Jacob & Florence Rowley Runyen. She married Raymond D. "Lefty" Thomas November 24, 1938 in Henderson, KY. He preceded her in death Feb. 7, 1997.

She taught in the Flora school district for 24 years and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Flora.

Survivors include a son, Timothy; and a daughter, Christina Thomas.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, two brothers and one sister.
