Vera E. Jackson, 76, of Olney, died at 1:15 p.m. Monday, Sept. 28, 1992, at Olney Care Center.  Funeral services at the Zirkle Funeral Home, with Rev. Paul Prater officiating. Graveside services  at Greenwood Memory Lawn Cemetery in Phoenix, Ariz.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or Diabetes Foundation.

Mrs. Jackson was born April 5, 1916, in Olney, the daughter of John R. and Mary (Eck) Alvord. She married John R. Lewis and he preceded her in death. She later married Silas Jackson, and he also preceded her in death.

Mrs. Jackson was a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church in Olney; Loyal Order of the Moose, Olney Lodge #1372 and Olney Chapter #100, Order of the Eastern Star.

Mrs. Jackson is survived by three sons, John R. Lewis, Jr. of Gilbert, Ariz., Charles "Chuck" Lewis of West Liberty, and Donald L. Lewis of Phoenix, Ariz.; three daughters, Anita L. Frohning of West Liberty, Karen J. Runyon of Olney, and Cathy V. Prince of Las Vegas, Nev.; two sisters, Ruth Walker and June Alvord, both of Olney; 19 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Jackson was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, one brother, one sister, and one great-granddaughter.
