Robert O. "Bob" Brown, 81, of Olney died Monday, March 13, 2000, at his residence.
He was born in Richland County in Illinois on April 17, 1918, to the late Glenn T. and Geneva (Thomson) Brown. He was a retired vending machine operator, and he operated a packaged liquor store. He was in the 2nd Marine Division, was a lifetime member of Shriner Knights Templar of Illinois, a lifetime member of Elks, a lifetime member of Masons, a member of VFW, and a member of American Legion.
He was preceded in death by four great-grandchildren, Robbie Brown, Alicia Brown, Haylee Taylor, and Chelsey Hill.
He is survived by his wife, Kathryn "Kay" Brown of Olney; three sons and daughters-in-law, Robert G. and Carol Brown of Maysville, Ky., Dr. James and Margaret Brown of Madisonville, and Dr. Daniel and Trudy Brown of Olney; one daughter and son-in-law, Bruce and Lynda Wall of Olney; and six grandchildren.
Services at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Olney with Larry Weber officiating. Full military rites will also be conducted. Burial will be in Haven Hill Cemetery.
