Genevieve Burgener, 87, Dundas, died Thursday, Aug. 19, 2004, at the Lodge of the Wabash in Vincenne

Born June 6, 1917, in Richland County, she was the daughter of Louis and Leona (Miller) Zerkle.  She was a homemaker and a member of Saron United Church of Christ.  She married Paul Burgener July 18, 1936, and he died July 15, 1983.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, Paul Burgener; and two brothers, Everett and Harold Zerkle.

Survivors include two sons, Donald L. Burgener of Dundas and Ronald M. Burgener, and wife Sandy, of Olney; one daughter, Bonnie Hendershot, and husband Bob, of Vincennes; two brothers, Clarence Zerkle of Olney and Francis "Bud" Zerkle, and wife Jean, of Dundas; one sister, Louise Myers, and husband Jessie, of Olney; three grandsons, Robert Hendershot, Michael Hendershot, and wife Dina, and Kevin Burgener; one granddaughter, Nikki Woods, and husband Brian; three great-grandsons, Brian, Cody and Austin; three great-granddaughters, Lindsey, Kaylee and Rachel; several nieces and nephews; and two very special family members, George Blankenship of Springfield and Pat Burke of Olney.

The funeral conducted at Saron United Church of Christ in rural Dundas by Pastor Gordon Elliott. Burial in Saron Cemetery in rural Dundas.
