Paul F. Smith, 72, of Bridgeport, died  Monday, July 1, 1991 at Lawrence County Memorial Hospital in Lawrenceville.  Funeral services  at Smith Funeral Home in Lawrenceville with Rev. David Stevenson officiating. Burial  in Crest Haven Cemetery.

Mr. Smith was born in Clay City Apr. 18, 1919, the son of Theodore and Essie (Doggitt) Smith. He married Ellen Lewis and she survives.

Mr. Smith was past-master Masonic Lodge, Bridgeport; past commander American Legion, Bridgeport; New Hope Christian Church; President of Board of New Hope Christian Churçh; President of Lawrence County Council of Senior Citzens; Lawrenceville Elks Club; Bridgeport VFW; former member of Bridgeport City Council; and World War II veteran.

Mr. Smith was a retired welder for Marathon Oil Company.
