Nettie Louise Byrd, 91, of Olney, died  Friday, July 24, 2009, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind.  Funeral services at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Olney with Pastor Brett Best officiating. Burial in Haven Hill Memorial Garden Cemetery in Olney.

Mrs. Byrd was born on February 9, 1918, in Olney, the daughter of John and Minnie Elizabeth (Bauman) Winter. She married Lester Morris Byrd on June 1, 1940. He preceded her in death on June 14, 2007.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Olney and Clio Club and was very involved in Good Samaritan of Richland County.

Mrs. Byrd is survived by her son, Ed Byrd and his wife, Jan, of Clinton; daughter, Pat Bihner and her husband, William, of Burke, Va.; daughter, Diane Byrd, of Paducah, Ky.; five grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Lester Morris Byrd.
