
Miriam "Mimi" (McWilliams) Hooker, age 90, of Weidman, Michigan, on Saturday July 26, 2008 slipped into eternal rest and has taken leave to be with her Lord. She was a resident of the Lifehouse in Mt. Pleasant at the time of her passing. At her request she has been cremated and will enjoy a family service of her design later in the summer with her immediate family at the Homer Township Cemetery in Midland County.
Mimi was born in Olney, Illinois to Flora (Brandt) McWilliams and George McWilliams on May 28, 1918. She attended school in Illinois and Mississippi before meeting and marrying Raymond (Jim) Hooker. They were married in Dixon, Kentucky on April 6, 1938. After living briefly in Owensboro, Kentucky they moved to Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. Mimi and Jim raised three children in Mt. Pleasant. Mimi began a banking career after her children were through elementary school at College El. She worked at the Exchange Savings Bank, American Security Bank and The Student Bank at CMU. She and Jim retired in 1975 and moved from Mt. Pleasant to enjoy the adventures of keeping up with their children, who had moved to Vancouver BC. (Bill), Lakewood, Co. (Bob) and San Francisco, Ca. (Jan).
Mimi is survived by Raymond, Robert (Gayle), and Jan Elizabeth. Mimi has three grandchildren, Jessica (Phil) of Vancouver BC, Elise Joy of Denver, Co. and Robert Raymond currently in the U.S. Army in Ft. Carson, Co. Two great grandchildren Ailsa and Felix of Vancouver, BC.
Mimi was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, five sisters, her infant son Raymond Willis II (1939), her husband Raymond (1994), her daughter Jan in 2000 and her daughter in law Veronica.
As a memorial to Mimi, she and her family request that each of you commit a random act of kindness and perform a selfless act of friendship.
