Katharina "Kitty" Regina (Weber) Fye, 85, of Olney died Wednesday May 26, 2004 at her residence. Funeral services at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Olney with Reverend Father Jerry Wirth officiating. Burial in Haven Hill Cemetery in Olney.
Mrs. Fye was born on August 25, 1918, in Richland County, the daughter of Dr. James August and Eugenia Morrison (Powers) Weber. She married John Lowrie Fye II on April 16, 1941. He preceded her in death on September 3, 1957.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Olney.
Mrs. Fye is survived by two daughters, Susan Barber and husband, Donn of Mt. Zion and Mary Ellen "Maidi" Gard and her husband, Ivan of Holland, Penn.; four sons, John "Jack" Fye III and his wife, Marge of Dundas, James "Jim" Fye and his wife, Barbara of Lafayette, Calif., Morrison Fye of Montgomery, Ala. and Jeffrey Fye and his wife, Peggy of Humble, Texas; three sisters, George Jolly "Dordie" Matthews of Loudon, Tenn. and Mary Weber Redman and Eugenia "Puzi" Weber Edmiston, both of Olney; 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, Eugene, James and John and a grandson, Danny.
Mrs. Fye who was widowed at an early age and left to raise her six children alone, was a devoted mother and wonderful example to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
