Genevieve Ruth Shafer Sothard, 83, of Cincinnati, Ohio, formerly of Covington, Kentucky, died Thursday July 3, 1997 at Crestview Parke Care Center, Cincinnati. Services at Allison and Rose Funeral Home, Covington with burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Erlanger.
She was born in Illinois May 21, 1914, daughter of J. Claude and Nancy Bailey Shafer. She married Harold Glenn Sothard. He passed away in 1992.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include an aunt, Isabelle Boewe of Urbana, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews.

I wonder who posted this - must be a relative of mine! Genevieve was my dad's (Lee Shafer's) cousin; their fathers were brothers. We are having a Shafer reunion in June - in Colorado. Not many Shafers left in Olney.
