Elsie E. Colmer, 83, of Monticello, Illinois died Friday, April 11, 1997 at her residence. Funeral services at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home in Monticello. Burial in Mansfield Cemetery.

She retired from the University of Illinois Housing and her hobby was quilting.

Mrs. Colmer was born Sept 27, 1913 in Samsville, Illinois daughter of Allen F. and Emma (Childers) Stone. She married Frank P. Colmer on Nov 29, 1934 in Allendale. He survives.

Also surviving are a son, Gerald, Eager AZ; daughters: Carolyn Alcorn, St Joseph, and Mary Jones, Urbana; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and five sisters.
