Roy Henry Dietrich,  89, died Tuesday, September 3, 2002 at St. Bernardine Medical Center. Mr. Dietrich, who was born in Dundas, Ill., lived in Fontana 56 years.

He was assistant fire chief for the Fontana Fire Department for 24 years. During World War II, he served with the U. S. Navy.

Mr. Dietrich is survived by two sons, Dennis of Nevada and Ken Pierce of Highland; two daughters, Debby Pierce of Highland and Sally of Nevada; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services at Ingold Chapel Funeral Home in Fontana. Interment in Riverside National Cemetery.
