Mrs. Wilba Thomas Cowger, 63 of Belvidere_,  formerly of Olney and Hidalgo, died November 15, 1976 at a nursing home near Rockford.

She was the daughter of the late Rev. and Mrs. John Thomas. Her father was pastor of the old lmmanuel Evangelical church in Olney 50 years or more ago. She attended Olney Township High School and was married to Charles Cowger, a Jasper County teacher.  He is living.

Funeral services were held in the Presbyterian church at Belvidere, followed by a graveside service in Aten cemetery, near Hidalgo.

Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Rita) Beecham of Atlanta, Ga., and Mrs. David (Sereta Ann) Cummins of Charleston; two sons, Charles David of Champaign, Bill of Belvidere; and nine grandchildren.
