Melvin L. Wilson

Melvin L. Wilson, 77 a retired Purdue University employee died Sunday, May 21, 1989 in his home in West Lafayette, Indiana. He had been in failing health four years.

Mr. Wilson had worked in the Poultry Science Department and the Bursar’s Office at Purdue for 25 years, retiring in 1977.

Born August 2, 1911 in Staunton, Illinois, son of  Frank O. and Caroline (Combs) Wilson, he had resided in Lafayette since 1947. He graduated from Olney High School, Olney, Illinois and from Kansas State University.

He was a member of Federated Church of West Lafayette and Lion’s Club in Lafayette.

His marriage was in Urbana, Illinois to Lucille Powers. She died April 3, 1976.

Surviving are a son, Melvin L. Wilson, Jr. of West Lafayette; three sisters, Marion M., Madonna M., and Julia A. Wilson, all of Belleville, Illinois.
