Wendell Rose, 82, of Olney, died Friday, Nov. 28, 1997, at his home.  Burial in Oak Hill Cemetery in Parkersburg.

Rose was born Aug. 28, 1916, in Parkersburg, the son of Everett and Mira (Smith) Rose. He married Frances Voigt Aug. 13, 1938, in Henderson, Ky.

He was a farmer and a member of the Moravian Church in West Salem.

He is survived by his wife, of Olney; two sons, Philip Rose and his wife, Donna, of Parkersburg, and John R. Rose, of Dallas, Texas; three daughters, Sue Cox and her husband, Glen, of Cisne, and Peggy Clark and Sherry Rose, both of Indianapolis, Ind.; one sister, Marjorie Swinson and her husband, Glenn, of Tucson, Ariz.; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Walton, Gilbert and Raymond Rose.
