Carl A. Decker

Carl A. "C.D." Decker, 87, of Olney died Thursday March 9, 2006 at Bridge Pointe Health Campus in Vincennes, Ind. Cremation rites were accorded. A memorial service to be held at a later date.

Mr. Decker was born on September 1, 1918 in Olney, the son of Charles W. and Ethel (Miller) Decker. He married Opal Waldeen "Wally" Mills on March 18, 1947. She preceded him in death on October 9, 1990. He and his wife owned and operated Decker's Drive-in in Olney and Robinson and Wally's Root Beer Branch in Vincennes, Ind. He was retired from the Department of the Forestry. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran.

He is survived by four grandsons, Tracy Vaughn of Geff, Doug Vaughn of Chester, Mike Vaughn of Sumner and Steve Vaughn of Mt. Vernon; two granddaughters, Marilyn Rohn of Fairfield and Amanda Griswold of Sailor Springs; 28 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; three nephews, Glenn W. Decker and his wife, Vicki of Mt. Carmel; Dan F. Decker and his wife, Becky of Weston, Conn.; and Charles Decker and his wife, Mary Kay of Alto, Mich.; two nieces, Judy McCumber and her husband, John of Manilus, N.Y. and Janice Millus and her husband, Lynn of Pinehurst, N.C.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a daughter, Dixie Vaughn; a sister, Viola Decker; an infant brother, Howard Decker and two brothers, Joseph K. Decker and Glenn O. Decker.
