Ray Edward Burgener, 79, of Olney died February 25, 2000 at Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney.  Funeral services at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Olney with burial in Haven Hill Cemetery with full military rites.

Mr. Burgener was born November 8, 1920 in Richland County, the son of Lewis and Ida (Lamkin) Burgener.

He was retired from housekeeping at Richland Memorial Hospital. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran and was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, American Legion and VFW.

Mr. Burgener is survived by one son, Ron A. Burgener, of Olney; one daughter, Mara Kay Fulk and her husband, Bob of Olney; close friend and companion, Genelle Harrel of Murray, Utah and her children; ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Harold Ray and one brother, Vern.
