Howard L. Ritter, 72, 614 E. Laurel, Olney, was dead on arrival at Richland Memorial Hospital on Monday, August 1, 1983.  Burial in Haven Hill Cemetery in Olney. Memorials to the Heart Fund.

Mr. Ritter was born July 23, 1911 in Richland County, the son of John A. and Alice (Ebie) Ritter. He married Edith Ulmer May 15, 1934 and she survives.

He was in Oil Production and Real Estate and then Real Estate Development.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Elks, Masonic Lodge, Shrine Club, Petroleum Club,  Richland County Housing Authority and was a member of the Oil Producers Association. Mr. Ritter was on the Board of Directors of the First National Bank in Olney.

Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Judy Fletcher, Olney and Mrs. Susan Parish, Beardstown; a brother, Dr. Vern W. Ritter, Santa Rosa, Ca.; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Glen Ritter.
