
Bernard A. Weber Jr., 74, formerly of Olney, died January 19, 2003 in Bend, Oregon.
Mr. Weber was born on May 5, 1928, the son of Dr. Bernard and Louise "Mammy" Weber. He married Phyllis Ann Hunt on February 4, 1951 at First Methodist Church in Olney. They resided in St. Louis until their move to Redmond, Oregon in November 2002.
He was a graduate of University of Illinois with a degree in electro-mechanical engineering and was employed by McDonnell Douglas in St. Louis. During the 1960's he helped develop the miniaturized flashlights positioned in each finger of the gloves worn by the astronauts. He also worked in Salt Lake City.
Mr. Weber was survived by his wife, Phyllis Weber, who died March 22, 2003; four children; Stephen of Oregon, Michael of Arizona, Mary of Texas and David of Germany; two sisters, Louise Borah of Olney and Ann of Colchester; two grandsons; a granddaughter and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Baxter and Ben Weber.
